A Soulful Varanasi Journey with Tanya Mittal – The Indeel Signature Experience

At Indeel, we don’t just offer tours — we offer stories, connections, and experiences that stay with you long after your trip ends.

In early 2024, we had the honor of hosting Tanya Mittal in the timeless city of Varanasi. Tanya, crowned Miss Asia Tourism 2018, is also a cultural ambassador for Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and now Jharkhand Tourism. Her visit wasn’t just a trip — it was a search for history, peace, and meaning.

We planned something special for her.

Tanya’s Custom Varanasi Tour with Indeel

Her journey was more than a checklist of famous spots. It was a personal experience, with a mix of well-known temples and hidden spiritual corners. Here are the highlights:

1. Kaal Bhairav Mandir – The Guardian of Kashi

We began at the Kaal Bhairav Temple, one of the oldest and most powerful places in Varanasi. Locals believe no one can stay in Kashi without Lord Bhairav’s blessing.

Tanya felt the intense energy of this temple the moment she stepped in. Devotees tied threads, offered oil, and prayed for strength and protection. The temple’s unique rituals, like offering liquor to the deity, added to the mystique. Tanya was fascinated by how this place blends tradition with deep spirituality.

2. Kashi Vishwanath Temple – With Rare Sparsh Darshan

We arranged a Sparsh Darshan for Tanya at Kashi Vishwanath, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. In this rare darshan, she was allowed to touch the Shivling — a deeply moving moment for her.

The sound of bells and chants, the sacred energy of the temple — everything came together to create a moment she will never forget.

“The Sparsh Darshan was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It felt like Lord Shiva himself was present.” - Tanya Mittal

3. Shree Annapurna Mandir – The Goddess Who Feeds All

Just beside Kashi Vishwanath is the Annapurna Temple, where Goddess Annapurna is worshipped as the one who gives food and kindness. Tanya loved learning about the temple’s message of nourishment and care, where no one leaves hungry.

4. Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat – A Magical Evening

In the evening, we took Tanya to the Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti — a beautiful and emotional ritual performed every evening.

We arranged a peaceful spot for her with a clear view. The sound of conch shells, chants, and glowing lamps created a moment of calm and connection.

After the Aarti, she joined in Deepdan, placing small diyas into the river as a sign of gratitude.

“The Ganga Aarti was a spiritual high point. The energy, the lights, the devotion — it was magical.” - Tanya Mittal

Hidden Gems Tanya Plans to Visit Next Time

Tanya couldn’t cover everything in one visit, but she plans to return soon. Here are some lesser-known spiritual spots she’s excited to explore:

1. Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir

A peaceful temple of Lord Hanuman, believed to help remove problems and obstacles. It’s especially special on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tanya hopes to visit during the early morning hours for a quiet prayer.

2. Durga Mata Mandir (Durga Kund)

This bright red temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, and includes a small holy pond. It’s known for its energy, protection, and strength. Tanya, who strongly supports women-led spiritual journeys, is drawn to its powerful aura.

3. Manas Mandir – Temple of the Ramayana

This temple has verses from the Ramcharitmanas written on its walls. It’s a calm and thoughtful place for people who enjoy stories of Lord Ram, Indian literature, and devotion.

4. Mani Mandir – A Quiet Spot by the Ganga

Few tourists know about this peaceful temple near the river. It’s ideal for those looking for a moment of meditation and calm. Tanya missed it this time, but says it’s on her list for the next trip.
